Kerchor ECO Elephant Park and Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, employs a thoughtful approach to sustainable elephant-friendly tourism, operated by the local community of Karen people, who have a long tradition of elephant keeping and consider these gentle giants as their own family members.
Our Mission
Care for elephants & local community
Local Karen communities have a long history of caring for elephants and consider them a part of their family. We established Kerchor ECO Elephant Park in cooperation with local Karen community in Ban Sop Win, Chiang Mai province. We are not only an Elephant Park but also an Elephant Sanctuary, where we have only our own elephants, but also take elephants like orphan elephants.

By following our approach, we hope to make visitors see how strong ties are between Karen communities and their elephant family members and to spread the understanding of how the elephants should be taken care of, loved, and pampered.

Elephant Care Program
A morning or afternoon with the elephants is an eye-opening and inspiring experience. Following a scenic drive along a local village you will arrive at Kerchor Elephant Eco Park, a picturesque jungle dotted with ponds, wide open fields and hillsides for the elephants to roam around.
Elephant Experience
Spend the day with our elephant family and learn about their daily habits. The full day visit is perfect for you if you prefer to not be pressed for time and get an in-depth understanding of our gentle giants. As such, we do not offer rides, shows, but we bathing, feeding, do interactive able such as trunk hugging, elephant kisses, massage.
Elephant Experience & Bamboo Rafting
Spend the day with our elephant family and learn about their daily habits. The full day visit is perfect for you if you prefer to not be pressed for time and get an in-depth understanding of our gentle giants. Additional, we will do a trekking to a waterfall, where You can rafting and take a swim.
