Fufu is 1 and a half years old male baby elephant.
The baby became an orphan elephant when he was 1 year old. So he’s quite emaciated and weak. Fufu had lived in Karen village, Maejaem district before he was recently moved to Kerchor Elephant ECO park. The baby look very pitiful, Also it has been feeling less warmth and affection , because its mom was died. Normally the baby elephant typically remain together with mother in childhood and will likely never once be separate from his mom until it is 3 years old.
When Fufu live here, we found that he sometimes show its behavior, like walking back and forth, shouting crying out for mom since his mom died. The baby also look exhausting and emaciated, because he does not get enough energy and nutrients from stepmother’s breast milk, moreover, he doesn’t want to eat a lot, his face doesn’t seem like bright and cheerful like other baby elephants. After Fufu move to Kerchor Elephant ECO park to live with us.
We try to take care of his body and his mind, giving love and taking care of him. We also develop his familiarity to live with others. In addition we give him supplements to substitute breast milk.
Fufu looks more cheerful and looks today stronger than before. To give him love as much as possible we could – was that what he needed!
