Riding Elephants should be avoided
This is the truth, riding elephants should be avoided. In the US, organizations, including the Humane Society of the US and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, are against riding elephants because of the abuse the animals undergo when they are taught to carry passengers, as well as safety concerns.
Sitting atop of the back of the giant animal, seems to be a kind of romance and for some people, this is on them list – things to do!
But in facts, elephants’ spines cannot support the weight of people and doing so all day can lead to permanent spinal injuries. There are further complications from having a chair attached to their backs. This clunky contraption rubs on their backs, causing blisters that can become infected. In addition, wear and tear on the elephant’s feet after long-term trekking can cause foot infections and injuries.
We at Kerchor ECO Elephant Scantuary do not riding! Instead, we are socialize back them life, we interact with this things what the elephants like to do! And we bring them together in tradition and with big love!
